James is a Staff Writer for Fit&Well, another site operated by Future publishing. He covers strength training workouts and accessible ways to improve your health and wellbeing. Before joining the Fit&Well team in 2021, he was the Buyer's Guide Editor for the consumer technology website MakeUseOf, has bylines at Blocks Decoded, Lifewire, and Happiness, and was named Muck Rack's Featured Journalist in February 2021.


He has reviewed headphones, fitness trackers, smartwatches, and other fitness equipment, and he regularly writes about affordable ways to improve your health, fitness, and wellbeing. His interest in all things health and fitness started when he was diagnosed with a chronic health condition in 2014, which is also when he began meditating, and hasn't missed a day since. 


James graduated from the University of Surrey with a BEng in Mechanical Engineering in 2012, which is where he became fascinated with understanding how the world works after learning about thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and material design.


In the years since, he has spent a lot of time reading research papers, listening to science podcasts to keep up to date with the latest developments in quantum mechanics, and would one day love to visit the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.
