Handshakes all around and an agreement signing will take place January 26 signifying an operational partnership between Spaceport Sweden and Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic spaceline.
The event will take place at the Arena Arctica, Kiruna Airport in Sweden.
Spaceport Sweden is a co-operation between the Swedish Space Corporation, ICEHOTEL, LFV Group (Luftfartsvekret) and Kiruna’s business-development company Progressum.
The aim of Spaceport Sweden is to make Kiruna Europe’s “first and most obvious place for personal suborbital spaceflight,” according to an invite to rub elbows with government and public dignitaries attending the signing.
Passengers on suborbital flights departing from Spaceport Sweden are in for quite the window view - surely to include looks at the aurora borealis!
