An Israeli university student will take your 140-max-character prayers, via twitter.com/thekotel, to the Western Wall in Jerusalem and put 'em in a crevice for the Almighty to ponder.

Reuters reported on the concept today, and so the guy who runs it, Alon Nir of Tel Aviv, is a little overwhelmed. About 1 hour ago he posted this tweet: "Welcome all the new followers. Please be patient ..."

It's not presently known how your prayers will fare in the Twitterverse, but as insurance, you can also fork over $4.95 to have Information Age Prayer talk to God on your behalf thrice daily.

In The Water Cooler, Imaginova's Editorial Director Robert Roy Britt looks at what people are talking about in the world of science and beyond. Find more in the archives and on Twitter.
