Baby Panda's Debut
Great Basin National Park is located in eastern Nevada, near the Utah Border. The park's diverse ecosystems range from low, desert basin to high, alpine tundra, with many ecozones and habitats in between.
Visitors will discover deserts, mountains, rock formations, fossils, springs, caves, creeks, and even a glacier. The variety of wildlife includes mountain lions, jackrabbits, snakes and bighorn sheep. Great Basin National Park is also known for Lehman Cave and its Bristlecone Pine forest.
The park was originally established as Lehman Caves National Monument in 1922, but was expanded and establsihed as Great Basin National Park in 1986.
