Fax Machines Recalled by Hewlett-Packard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Hewlett-Packard Co., of Palo Alto, Calif., announced a voluntary recall of about 928,000 HP fax 1040 and 1050 machines in the U.S. and 240,000 in Canada and Mexico.

Hazard: The fax machines can overheat due to an internal electrical component failure, posing fire and burn hazards.
