Lamps Recalled by CDX Group Due to Fire and Shock Hazards

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with CDX Group Inc., of Brooklyn, N.Y., announced a voluntary recall of about 1,600 Desk and Table Lamps today.

Hazard: Substandard electrical wiring, connections and plugs in these lamps pose a fire and shock risk to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Sold at: CDX Group's showroom, New Chens Discount, Concordia Trading Inc. and Grace Mini Market in Brooklyn, N.Y. and Dollar King in Lexington, Ky. from April 2010 through July 2010 for between $5 and $10.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled lamps and contact CDX Group to return the lamps to the place where purchased for a full refund.
