Astronaut Claims UFO Hush-Up

Reports of UFOs go way back. The first reported alien abduction in the United States was in 1961. Conspiracy theories have long accused the U.S. government of covering all this up. NASA and other government agencies usually stay out of these things.

Mitchell also talked about the supposed UFO crash in his hometown of Roswell, New Mexico, and said that an unnamed admiral had confirmed the incident but now denied it.

It's not the first time Mitchell has made this accusation, and he also believes in mystics and psychics.

"NASA does not track UFOs," said Michael Cabbage, a NASA spokesman, in the CNN story. "NASA is not involved in any sort of cover-up about alien life on this planet or anywhere else – period."
