Butterfly wing scales
Coming in twelfth place in the 2018 Nikon Small World photography contest, photographer Luciano Andres Richino from Punto NEF Photography in Argentina, captured this image of wing scales in the butterfly Urania ripheus. The image was created using image stacking at 20x magnification.
