All About Wildlife

The flora and undomesticated fauna that we see and do not see make up our planet’s wildlife. Generations ago, most of the world relied on this wildlife to sustain human life. As our societies continue to advance and our technology becomes more complex, fewer and fewer communites rely on hunting and fishing. The process of agriculture and the domestication of animals play a significant role in the health of Earth’s wildlife.

Efforts from organizations like the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization have created programs inluding protected areas, national parks and wildlife preserves to keep our wildlife from being severly disturbed. The African Wildlife Foundation plays a similar role in the preservation of their complex ecosystem. They have spent the past 40 years using science and research to educate themselves, and in turn the public, about the effects humans have on the wildlife.

The United States also makes an effort to make a difference. In Oregon, the public is welcome to go on a Wildlife Safari, where you can witness the plants and animals in their natural habitat. The most prominent body dedicated to conservation and the preservation of the natural wildlife is the National Wildlife Federation. This organization is dedicated to connecting people to nature, reversing global warming and protecting and restoring critical wildlife habitats.
