A large storm in the eastern U.S. is bringing widespread, heavy rain from the Southeast to the Ohio Valley, while early season snow is falling across southeast Missouri, northeast Arkansas, western Tennessee and northern Mississippi. Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for areas from southeastern Missouri and northeastern Arkansas through western Tennessee and into northern Mississippi and Alabama. Flood and Flash Flood Watches and Warnings are in effect for areas from Kentucky northward into Michigan, as well as the higher elevations of Virginia and the Carolinas. As the system continues to move across the Tennessee Valley, precipitation may remain as snow or change to snow across Tennessee, and northern portions of Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia.
