Marie Bourgeois is a PhD student at Université Lumière Lyon 2 - Hisoma 5189.
She is archaeologist within the Aswan-Kom Ombo Archaeological Project (dir. M.C. Gatto, University of Bologna) and the Missions Archéologique du Désert Oriental (dir. M. Crépy, Ifao) missions, and member of the Atbai Survey Project (dir. J. Cooper, Macquarie University).

Her research focus on the occupation of Nubia during the first half of the third millennium BCE. She focuses in particular on nomadic and semi-sedentary populations, their patterns of movement, their socio-political organization, and their subsistence economies.
