AIXPI 30X Magnifying Glass with Light

See better as you explore the world

The AIXPI magnifying glass has LED lights to help you see as the glass magnifies objects 30 times larger.

Pros:

  • 30x magnification
  • 12 bright LED lights
  • Easy-grip handle

Cons:

  • Batteries not included
  • Doesn’t have a stand

This magnifying glass is a handheld model with a large handle to keep a firm grip as you explore, inspect, or read. The edge of the glass is lined with 12 extra bright LED lights to illuminate what you’re looking at in dark spaces. It does require 2 AA batteries that are not included. This AIXPI magnifies objects 30 times larger making it a good choice for doing fine detail work like making jewelry or reading the fine print in newspapers and magazines. This magnifying glass doesn’t come with a stand, so you will have to hold it the entire time you use it.

Best value

iMagniphy Illuminated Magnifying Glass Set

A value pick that is good for seniors

The iMagniphy magnifying glass comes with two lenses that can be swapped out to magnify objects five or 10 times.

Pros:

  • Interchangeable lenses
  • LED light on the handle
  • Cleaning cloth and carrying case included

Cons:

  • Really wide handle
  • No stand included

This illuminated magnifying glass by iMagniphy comes with two interchangeable lenses to bring objects close, but not too close. There is also a carrying pouch and cleaning rag to make sure you don’t get smudges on the glass that make it harder to use. One of the lenses magnifies objects five times while the second lens enlarges objects ten times their original size. This isn’t a big as other magnifying glasses, but it is helpful for exploring or reading. Seniors especially like using the iMagniphy magnifying glass. On the handle right below the magnifying lens is an LED light to give you a little bit more light to see. The handle is bulky which is good for seniors with unsteady hands but may be too wide for children to handle. There isn’t a stand include with this magnifying glass.

Best traditional glass

GYANDULY Large Magnifying Glass

Good old-fashioned detective work

The GYANDULY magnifying glass is a traditional design without lighting or a plastic lens. It enlarges objects five times.

Pros:

  • Shatterproof design
  • Magnifies object five times bigger
  • Kid-friendly magnifying glass

Cons:

  •  No lighting

For those moments when you just want to feel like Sherlock Holmes, you need a good old-fashioned magnifying glass without the extra bells and whistles to distract you. The GYANDULY magnifying glass is built sturdily so even kids can enjoy hours of exploring. The long handle is also easy for seniors to use for reading, though there isn’t a light to help illuminate what you’re looking at. The lens is made of glass instead of plastic and magnifies objects up to five times bigger and is designed to be shatterproof just in case it is dropped.

Best for reading

MagniPros 3x Magnifying Glass

Easy reading lens

This magnifying lens is rectangle-shaped to make it better for reading with it. The LED light is dimmable to reduce eye strain

Pros:

  • Rectangle-shaped lens
  • Dimmable LED light

Cons:

  • Heavy to hold

The MagniPros See Things Differently magnifying glass is long and rectangular-shaped instead of round like traditional lenses. This makes it easier to follow along in a natural reading pattern. The LED light helps lighten the page you’re reading, but it is also dimmable to reduce page glare and strain on your eyes. The lens magnifies words and objects three times larger. The handle is thick for a good grip, but it isn’t as long as other magnifying glasses. This magnifying glass is also really heavy, so it may become tiresome to hold after a while.

Best magnifying sheets

Magpro Page Magnifying Sheet

Give your hands a rest

These magnifying sheets lay over your book pages or map so you can see and read much more without having to move the lens.

Pros:

  • Covers entire pages
  • Magnifies three times
  • Allows for hands-free reading

Cons:

  • No lighting

This magnifying sheet is just a tad bit smaller than a standard sheet of paper and a little bit thicker. You lay this sheet over a book page, map or instruction sheets so you can more easily follow along while keeping your hands free. Made from lightweight and flexible plastic these sheets magnify words and objects up to three times bigger, which is 300 percent bigger than their original size. If you use one of these sheets for reading you can safely keep it tucked in your book to mark your page. There aren’t any lights on this magnifying glass, but this package comes with two sheets plus two smaller card-sized holders to slip over ID cards or other smaller items to see them better.

Best free standing

Brightech LightView Pro Flex Magnifying Lamp

Hands free magnification

This magnifying glass is attached to a flexible gooseneck and sturdy base so you can keep your hands free as you read or explore.

Pros:

  • Stand with flexible gooseneck
  • Bright LED lights
  • Alligator clip included

Cons:

  • Not for outdoor use

This magnifying glass is attached to a gooseneck stand and includes several LED ultrabright lights around the edge. This is a great tool for looking closer at smaller objects without tiring out your hands from having to hold the glass along with the object. The gooseneck makes it easier to position the magnifying glass and the base is sturdy enough to keep it level and still on any flat surface like a table, desk, or laboratory counter. Also includes with this Brightech LightView magnifying glass is a sturdy alligator clip. This lets you take off the magnifying glass from its base and attach it to other objects for a different view or more convenient angle away from your desk. You can use the magnifying glass on its own, though the gooseneck will still be attached to it. You can’t use the LED lights, however, unless the unit is plugged into a power source, so it isn’t recommended to use on the go or outdoors.

Make it bigger

Just about any magnifying glass will work to help you see smaller objects or read the fine print. But the AIXPI magnifying glass really is the best because it magnifies objects 30 times bigger, which is ten times bigger than other lenses. The rim is edged with several LED lights to give you more light as you study closer. The handle is just thick enough to give you a good grip as you use it, though there isn’t a stand for it in case you need to give your hand rest or need two hands for closer inspection. The biggest drawback of this magnifying glass, however, is that it does require a couple of batteries if you want to use the lighting features. Batteries don’t come with the magnifying glass.
