Peter Sahlins
Professor of History Emeritus
Peter Sahlins is Professor of History Emeritus at University of California, Berkeley. The son of renowned anthropologist Marshall Sahlins, Peter studied early modern French and European history at Harvard and Princeton, then taught for thirty years at the University of California, Berkeley. He has written six books and scores of articles on a range of topics, most recently "1668: The Year of the Animal in France". He divides his time between Paris and Arcy-sur-Cure in Burgundy, where he also gives guided tours of its famous prehistoric caves.
