
Farhat Beg
Farhat Beg, the co-director of newly established Fusion Engineering Institute, received his Ph.D. from Imperial College London in 1995. He joined UC San Diego in 2003. He is actively involved in the field of High-Energy-Density-Plasmas and Inertial Fusion Energy and he has published over 300 papers in refereed journals. He is the fellow of the American Physical Society, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He was the recipient of the Plasma Science and Applications Committee Award by the IEEE in 2021.
