Safeguarding history
Montezuma Castle National Monument is located only 2-miles (3.2 km) east of Interstate 17 near Camp Verde, Arizona. Its proximity to the interstate makes it a very popular tourist attraction especially during the summer months. It is considered by many to be one of the best preserved cliff-dwellings in all of North America. All the monument facilities are well maintained and easy to visit.
Historical place and people
Montezuma Castle and Montezuma Well are just two of the many Sinagua ruins found across the Verde Valley of central Arizona. The rich Native American cultures once found here only enrich even more the spectacular beauty and amazing history found in the region of the American Southwest.
