Works of art
Once the dung and cedar have burned, the kiln is reopened and the beautiful Hopi pots are now complete. The pots are still hot from the firing and are allowed time to cool, depending on the outdoor temperature. Then, the pots are gathered and sold to individuals and museums around the world who wish to own one of these spectacular handmade traditional pots of the Hopi artists.
Grand tradition
The history of pottery is one of the great traditions found across many Native American cultures. These magnificent pots, still created in the traditional ways by potters like the Setallas, are a modern-day testament to what skillful artists can create with the natural elements found in our amazing world.
