Scientists: Greenhouse Gas Cuts Should Start at Home

While much of the talk about curbing greenhouse gas emissions revolves around often painful steps for industry, a new report finds there's plenty you can do at home.

Household energy consumption accounts for 38 percent of carbon emissions in the United States and 8 percent of world emissions, says Michigan State University professor Thomas Dietz, a co-author of a report in this week's Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
