It's been an amazing month for the Live Science team as our forums hit 1,000 members! To celebrate, we're declaring February our Month of Discovery. Tell us about your favorite discovery in this thread for a chance to win a bundle of goodies, including a Lego fossil set and a Live Science hoodie! There's no restriction on the sorts of discoveries you can post - whether it's a biological wonder or some groundbreaking physics achievement, your entry will be valid.
If sci-fi flicks and movies about exploration are more your thing, you can put together your dream expedition team for a chance to snag a Live Science mug! Pick your favorite characters from any film, show or an historical figure and get creative for a chance to win the fabled 'mug of science'! Check that out here.
Both giveaways close for entries on Feb. 29, so post away!
Outside of the forums, the world of science has turned its eye to the coronavirus outbreak that has dominated much of the global news cycle. The resulting coverage has brought about more revelations with every passing day, and our forums are full of debate, insights and questions. We'll provide some answers to your most pressing questions during a Facebook Live event tomorrow, hosted by staff writer Nicoletta Lanese. Head on over to this thread and post a reply to let us know what you'd like Nicoletta to cover during the live stream.
We're also two episodes into Life's Little Mysteries, the official Live Science podcast hosted by our very own Jeanna Bryner and Mindy Weisberger. This week, it's a cat-themed episode (I approve). Tune in wherever you get your podcasts — and post any questions you'd like featured on an upcoming episode here!
Lastly, here are some of our favorite threads this month:
Science, in all it's fear-inducing and awe-inspiring capabilities, is fundamentally about questions. The Live Science community is all about asking and answering those questions. So, even if you're new to the forums, we encourage you to explore on and post away!
