The Celestron NexStar 8SE missed out on the flawless review mostly for its price, which at full MSRP made it a significant investment. However, Jase still highlighted its value for money versus performance, which now that Amazon has knocked $200 off the retail price is even better, taking it down to just $1,499.99.

While there's still a lot of numbers on that price tag, even at this price Jase reckons it's still an ideal option for a beginner telescope. Intermediate or advanced astronomers can also benefit from upgrading to the NexStar 8SE, with its motorized function and scalability being attractive features, making it ideal as a deep space telescope or for viewing planets.

Amazon Prime Day lands later this month, but as this is the lowest price for the NexStar 8SE we've seen this year, you're unlikely to see a better telescope deal than this. You'll have to be quick though — the listing says it's marked as limited stock, and at this price it could sell out fast.

However, Walmart is price-matching the Amazon deal along with Adorama, should you wish to purchase away from Amazon.

The Celestron NexStar 8SE is a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope design, which is renowned for impressive optical quality, and the NexStar 8SE certainly delivers here. Jase was blown away by the stunning clarity thanks to its 8-inch aperture up front, which simply drinks in light and makes it incredibly easy to see detail in the night sky.

Jase also highlighted the smoothness of the motor, and with the help of the Celestron SkyAlign app, you can align the scope using three bright stars and enjoy automated viewing almost instantly in your stargazing journey.

Although for a beginner the Celestron is a considerable outlay, Jase also noted the build quality and performance make it a telescope that will last for decades, and potentially the only telescope you'll ever need.

There are cheaper and smaller aperture versions available in the Celestron range, including the Celestron NexStar 4SE. That's our top choice as the best small telescope, and is currently discounted on Amazon by 13% to $649.99. Of course, the smaller you go, the less light captured, thus making your views less awe-inspiring with a drop in aperture.

Having used the original Kickr Core, the latest version, the Kickr Core 2, is almost identical to the outgoing model, retaining the same body design and graphics, belt-drive configuration, and flywheel.

Although there are significant changes inside, the physical appearance, remaining the same, means Wahoo has kept pricing in line with the outgoing model, which will appeal to both current and prospective users.

Although the Urevo ticked a lot of boxes for Anna in her testing, it also had some downsides that need highlighting to anyone considering a purchase.

Firstly, this is not the best option for seasoned runners, sprinters or taller individuals, and as its speed is limited to 6.2 mph (10 km/h), it's most suitable for walking and light jogging.

Anna also noted that the Urevo Strol 2E treadmill has a relatively short and narrow tread, making it somewhat uncomfortable to use for individuals with a longer stride, and its maximum user weight stands at 265 pounds (120 kilograms).

However, the compact footprint is also one of its assets, meaning it takes up very little space and is easily stored. Anna also added that you'd be hard-pressed to find a better value treadmill in this price range.

The Urevo Strol 2E also outshone competitors with its excellent build quality, quiet, powerful motor, and connected apps, and now you can get this budget treadmill for just $187.98.

The sound quality is excellent, they have highly effective noise-canceling modes, and if you're an Apple user, they will work seamlessly with your other devices. We tested the launch version and awarded them four out of five stars in our Apple AirPods Max review. Our reviewer was particularly impressed with the sound quality and levels of comfort. One gripe was that the original design used Apple's Lightning charging cable; however, the model offered here has been updated to USB-C for improved charging convenience and compatibility, aligning with the latest generation of Apple devices.

The main reason to buy a pair of Apple AirPods Max headphones is their outstanding audio quality. In testing, we were very impressed with the rich and well-balanced output that worked exceptionally well whether listening to music, podcasts, or gaming.

With ear-cups constructed from stainless steel, the AirPods Max have a premium feel, though that comes with a weight penalty. At 13.6 oz (385 g), the AirPods are considerably heavier than their rivals; however, the well-designed headband means that weight is well-distributed, and our reviewer didn't find that it resulted in additional pressure on the ears.

He was less impressed with the supplied case, which is not really a case, but more a wrap-around cover. Using it is the only way to put the AirPods in low power mode, though. For reasons known only to themselves, Apple decided not to give the headphones a power switch.

Also missing is a 3.5mm audio port, which would give a wired connection to laptops, amplifiers, etc. That said, a USB-C to 3.5mm adaptor is available for around $35.

As you'd expect from an Apple product, the AirPods Max work extremely well as part of Apple's ecosystem. You can set up Apple's immersive Spatial Audio, the headphones automatically switch between different iOS devices, you can use Siri hands-free, and you can locate the AirPods via Apple's Find My feature.

Without the features above, the package is less attractive for Android users. The AirPods still give fantastic audio results, but a better option would be Sony's WH-1000XM5, which gets a five-star review from our colleagues at TechRadar.

Once you have fitted the goggles to your face, the optical heart rate sensor sits snugly against it. In our hands-on FORM Smart Swim 2 review, we found the heart rate readings to be spot on, with no missed or erratic readings, unlike some swim trackers we have reviewed.

While these aren't the most comfortable swimming goggles in the world, as they require a tight fit to ensure data accuracy, they are about as comfortable as any other swimming goggles we've worn for extended periods in the water. They all need to be snug to the face to ensure a leak-free swim after all.

While testing, we found that the reduced peripheral vision takes a little while to get used to, as does switching between looking 'at' the data and looking 'through' the data, as this is likely something you haven't done before. We quickly adapted to it, and over time, it just became part and parcel of our swimming experience.

The Apple Watch Series 11 has seen improvements in both its software and hardware, making it the best yet. Compared with the previous Apple Watch Series 10, the Series 11 has seen several upgrades to health and fitness tracking, durability, and redefinements for everyday use. If you already have the 10, there's probably not much need to update. It is worth it if you have one of the older models, though.

The Apple Watch Series 11 offers the same thin profile as the Series 10, but with tougher glass for better durability and scratch resistance. The water and dust resistance (50m / IPX 6) remains the same.

The typical battery life has also improved, from 18 hours to 24 hours or 38 hours in low-power mode.

Software-wise, additions to the Health and Wellness features have been made, notably improvements to the Sleep Score and Hypertension alerts. The latter is an algorithm-based alert to potential high blood pressure.

Tweaks have also been made to improve daily wearability and performance, including a new "Wrist Flick" gesture control, which lets users go back a step at the flick of a wrist. Black Friday and Cyber Monday afford excellent opportunities to get some Christmas gift shopping out of the way. There's one deal that pops up year on year, and given we still own this star projector more than three years after our first review, we're happy to continue singing its praises.

The Astronaut Starry Sky projector is $26.59 on Amazon today. Cheaper models are available, such as this model, which is just $14.42, but we must point out that we haven't physically tested the latter model or other variations of it, so we can't vouch for their quality as much as we can for this one.

The price swings regularly between around $28 and $37, so it is sitting in the dip at the moment. As we said, we know this product lasts. It has been used daily as part of our nephew's bedtime routine and still doesn't fail to impress (unlike many of the toys that have been sitting in the cupboard gathering dust).

It is an ideal gift for younger space enthusiasts, and we think it is one of the best star projectors for kids. At the time of our Astronaut Starry Sky Projector review, we awarded it four stars, calling it "A great quality star projector for any space lover". We actually think that, having tested countless other star projectors, and the fact that it has proved its longevity, this little guy actually deserves the full five stars.

The Celestron Origin Home Observatory isn't just a telescope — it’s a shortcut to deep space. Yes, it's a big investment, but for nebulae chasers and astronomy enthusiasts who don't quite know their way around the night sky or astrophotography yet (and those who do), this smart telescope will provide entertainment for years.

In the box, you get the telescope tube, tripod, accessory tray, and a built-in bubble level. There's no carry bag, but the mount has handles, so it's still easy enough to transport.

And performance? In our hands-on review, Brett Tingley praised the accuracy of the tracking, making sure stars appear pinpoint-sharp and highlighted that deep space objects appear colourful even without a filter. Ease-of-use was a consistent theme throughout Bret's review, claiming "The Origin makes it almost impossibly easy to start taking pictures of the night sky".

This is really a smart telescope for deep sky imaging; it doesn't handle our neighboring planets or objects in our own solar system quite so well.

While we haven't managed to get our hands on these exact models for review, we have reviewed previous models. In our Apple Watch Ultra review, we gave it five out of five stars, stating that it was the "best Apple watch yet". However, the Ultra 2 superseded this watch with more impressive features. Finding great stocking fillers can be frustrating, especially if the person you're buying for already has everything, is fussy or you just don't know them that well. If you've drawn the office introvert for your Secret Santa, we think they'll love the Occer 12x25 compact binoculars — and they're now under $20 in this Black Friday deal.

In our full Occer 12x25 review, they packed an optical punch we weren't expecting. At first glance, they look like a child's toy, and the price would certainly reflect that, but they have decently sharp views and are ideal for slipping into a coat pocket or backpack to take anywhere. Sure, they won't stack up against the very best binoculars for birdwatching or have big objective lenses like astronomy binoculars, but for portability and price, you can't go wrong.

They feel surprisingly sturdy in the hand and are constructed from resilient hard plastic with rubber grips on the side. If you're buying them for a child, they'd be able to handle a bit of wear and tear and rough handling.

We did notice a fair amount of chromatic aberration — yellow and purple fringing around highly contrasted subjects — which isn't totally unexpected given the low price. Still, we didn't find it particularly distracting, and it would be much less apparent to the untrained eye. The views were a little soft around the edges, but overall, we have nothing to complain about.

The 12x magnification gives you a lot to work with, but the 25mm objective lens diameter means they won't be suitable for use after dark or for stargazing. They're really a binocular to keep in your car or bag for casual use, or for curious kids who want a better look at the world around them.

Reviews consensus: We half expected them to perform like a toy, but they're surprisingly good for the money, and compact enough to take anywhere with you. For under $20, they're a steal.

Buying a new camera isn't a decision that you should take lightly. We've tested and reviewed the Nikon Z8, and we think it's one of the best cameras on the market. It has a dedicated night vision mode for passionate astrophotographers, and its 45MP resolution and 20FPS (RAW) burst rate make for an awesome camera for wildlife photography, too. We called it a "technological marvel and an unprecedented powerhouse".

It delivers up to 5.5 stops of image stabilization (6 with compatible lenses), and the ergonomics are sublime. We'd have liked it to have a fully articulating screen, but the 4-way tilting screen is bright and detailed nonetheless.

On paper, the Nikon Z8 boasts that it can shoot up to 120FPS — but this is limited to 11MP JPEGS. If you want RAW, you'll get 20FPS, which is still pretty decent. Plus, the stacked 45MP back-illuminated sensor helps to increase readout speeds, so you won't encounter any issues where the camera can't keep up. It can also produce crystal clear 8K 60p as well as 4K 120p footage without any issues of overheating or recording limit restraints whatsoever.

This Nikon Z8 deal is the best price we've seen since June this year, so it really is worth taking advantage of. The price tends to yo-yo between $4,296 and $3,696, and we don't know when the price will go back up.

Black Friday is technically over, but the Black Friday Weekend sales are in full swing, and as we approach Cyber Monday, we expect plenty of big discounts on the horizon.

One Garmin deal I've spotted is on the Garmin Forerunner 970 — this newly released premium smartwatch has $100 off and is at its lowest-ever price.

In his Garmin Forerunner 970 review, our tech expert, Andrew Williams, scored it with an impressive 4.5 out of 5 stars. Andrew has tested a vast range of the best Garmin watches and the best fitness trackers, too, and he highlighted the Forerunner 970 as being an outstanding high-end smartwatch.

Stand-out features that really stood out for Andrew included the 1.4-inch AMOLED touchscreen, which he noted as being one of the brightest in any of the Garmin smartwatch range.

The newly added LED flash and voice assistant support, although not essential for everyone, was a welcome addition too, and Andrew summed up his review by stating that the Forerunner 970 was a world-class runner’s and fitness watch.

There is plenty to like about the Garmin Forerunner 970. To start with, the stunning AMOLED display is beautifully bright and colorful. Bigger, brighter screens normally mean lower battery life. Sure enough, in Andrew's testing, he came nowhere near the claimed 15 days of battery life. Andrew reported that the 970 with the always-on mode switched on was powered for around 4-5 days. This can be extended further by switching off always-on and also lowering the display brightness setting.

Accuracy was also excellent, as you'd expect from a Garmin watch that features much of the same level of internal tech as its Garmin Fenix 8 sibling. Advanced multiband SatIQ GPS and Elevate Gen 5 heart rate sensor delivered what Andrew called the best Garmin has to offer, and in his opinion, amongst the best in any wearable fitness tracker.

Elsewhere, the host of useful smartwatch features ticks all the boxes for usability, with NFC payments, offline music playback and voice control. Andrew noted that the Garmin Forerunner 970 at full MSRP was on the costly side, and that stopped it from being awarded the flawless score. With this Black Friday Weekend discount, it's now an even more appealing smartwatch package worth snapping up fast ahead of Cyber Monday.

We aren't always blessed with clear nights to head out with a telescope or binoculars for stargazing, so buying a star projector is a great way to bring the night sky indoors in any weather. In our full Pococo Galaxy Lite review, we praised the quality of the projections and noted that they were vivid and bright even in the daytime. It has a very simple operation with just a few buttons on the body itself (which means no remotes to be faffing with), and it's also rechargeable, so you aren't limited to keeping it close to a power outlet.

You can set a sleep timer to shut off after either 15, 30 or 60 minutes, and there's also an auto-shut off function after 2 hours of continuous use to preserve the battery. There are three colorways to choose from, but currently, the white model is the cheapest.

The Levoit 400S uses a True HEPA 3-stage filter that captures dust, pollen, smoke and pet dander. In our hands-on review of the air purifier, our tester Joanne Lewsley reported that it removed 99.5% of particles at 0.3 microns or smaller and 100% of particles smaller than 2.5 microns and 10 microns or smaller. This is a level of performance often seen in pricier purifiers, which is why we are more than happy to recommend this product.

Even in a sealed room, we noticed cleaner air after just 30 minutes, clearing match smoke and incense effectively. If it can handle this, it can easily handle pet and seasonal pollution.

Throughout our testing, we praised this air purifier's ease of use on multiple occasions. It is ready to go straight out of the box (with just a protective wrap on the filter to remove first). It was our favorite purifier for a long time, only trumped by its younger sibling, the Levoit 600S, which is also on offer and now sits proudly at the top of our best air purifier guide.

We especially loved that on the control panel, a series of color-coded indicator rings tells you how clean your air is right now (from red to green/ poor to clean) as air quality improves, so there is no need to check the accompanying app if you don't want to.

We also liked the compatibility with smart home assistants like Alexa and Google. You can change the settings without having to touch the machine, so you can put it out of sight/reach if you don't want to access it often. In a similar vein, you can set schedules and timers as well. Set it up once and let it do its thing, just what we like.

Overall, this is a stylish, powerful air purifier that delivers excellent results without breaking the bank.

To put it simply, we had no complaints during our full Canon EOS R5 II review. We put it through its paces in very heavy rain on Skomer Island to photograph puffins, and it didn't miss a beat. The autofocus was exceptional, and it was quick as lightning — it's definitely one of the best cameras for wildlife photography we've ever tested.

So why is it so good? Basically, it ticks every box you could possibly imagine. The 45MP resolution from the stacked sensor is beautifully sharp and crisp, the 30FPS blackout-free burst rate ensures you never miss a shot, it's fully weather sealed and has image stabilization to aid long lenses, and the autofocus is impeccably accurate. Plus, it can shoot 8K video and handles noise very well, in case you also want to use it for astrophotography. We paired it with a number of lenses, with the resolution proving excellent for macro work.

Abes of Maine don't explicitly state what it comes with, but new 'body only' setups typically come with a strap, a battery and a cleaning cloth. It's worth noting that the R5 II only works with the newer style battery, so if you're upgrading from an older Canon, you might need to stock up.

Every Black Friday, we see newly-released Garmin watches go on sale for the first time — and this year is no different. While last year belonged to casual exercisers, in 2025, it is the runners and triathletes who get dibs on the best deals. These two models were only released in May this year, but they have just been discounted for the first time.

Putting together an astrophotography setup can look terrifying from the outside.
