The original HBO film “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks,” based on the bestselling nonfiction book by journalist Rebecca Skloot, chronicles the story of Henrietta Lacks, an African-American woman whose cancerous cells — harvested without her permission in 1951 from a tumor — fueled medical research that resulted in breakthrough discoveries. The film stars Rose Byrne as Rebecca Skloot, Oprah Winfrey as Deborah Lacks (Henrietta’s daughter) and Renée Elise Goldsberry (Angelica from the original Broadway cast of “Hamilton”) as Henrietta Lacks. It debuts on HBO Apr. 22, 8:00PM ET.
