Calif. May Ban Big TVs

California regulators are poised to pass the nation's first ban on energy-hungry big-screen televisions, according to the L.A. Times. The rules would set maximum energy-consumption standards for TVs to be phased in starting in 2011. California's 35 million TVs and related electronic devices account for about 10 percent of home electricity use.
