Some 63 percent of U.S. adults have high-speed Internet connections at home as of April, compared to 55 percent a year prior, according to a new report by the Pew Research Center's Internet & American Life Project.
Some of the biggest jumps were among under-served groups:
- Those 65 and older saw broadband-at-home access grew 19 percent, the survey found.
- People living in households whose annual household income is $20,000 or less saw broadband adoption grow 35 percent.
Meanwhile, people making more than $75,000 saw access grow from 84 percent to 85 percent, Pew analysts said today.
