No surprise, but a new survey finds the number of adults who watch videos on video-sharing sites like Google and YouTube has nearly doubled since 2006, from 33 percent to 62 percent.

Among young adults (18-29) it's 89 percent, the Pew Research Center survey found. Overall, 19 percent of internet users say they use video-sharing sites on a typical day.

Things are changing, though. Video portals like Hulu, which show network TV shows and movies, are gaining steam vs. user-generated sharing sites. About 35 percent of internet users have viewed a television show or movie online.
