Self-taught paleontologist Nathan Murphy has been sentenced to four months in a halfway house and 3 years probation for stealing dinosaur fossils, AP reports. He was accused of taking 13 bones from Montana's Hell Creek badlands and pleaded guilty to theft of government property.
Murphy is best known for his discovery of a mummified duckbill dinosaur named Leonardo.
