The world's oldest woman, according to officials in Kazakhstan, slipped on the bathroom floor of an apartment that the state had given her because of her great age. She died at 130. Sakhan Dosova had 10 children, and she outlived all but three of them.

While 130 is of course a rare age, reaching 100 is not so rare.

There are about 80,000 centenarians in the United States. Odds are most won't live much longer, however. Only about 1-in-1,000 people who make it to age 100 live to be 110. And only 1-in-100,000 of these go on to be 115.
