Weather data and visualizations surround researchers using the Social Computing Room at the Renaissance Computing Institute (RENCI) Engagement Center at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. The room uses 12 projectors to create a 360-degree display, allowing researchers to share data and visualizations in novel ways, experience virtual worlds, and interact with colleagues over long distances and gaming scenarios. The 360-degree display can be operated as an extension of a desktop machine and applications.
