The "morphospace" for dinosaurs, crurotarsans (crocodile-line archosaurs), and pterosaurs during the Triassic. A morphospace is a map showing the range of body types, lifestyles, and diets present in a group of organisms. In this case crurotarsans had a much larger morphospace than dinosaurs, which means that they were more "successful" in terms of exploiting a wider variety of lifestyles.
