DETAIL: On the right side of the Euphrates is the village of Rumeileh. Just below the village is a domed structure (A) that\'s a mound of ancient remains called a tell. Below that is a small anomalous area (B) that turned out to be a cemetery. Further down is a large darkened disturbed area (C) found to be a large early Islamic pottery factory. It is now used to grow irrigated crops, so although the ground disturbance was no longer apparent, researchers noted soil discoloration and large amounts of broken and misfired pottery sherds.
