Health Care Overhaul Needed

There's no arguing that the U.S. health care system is broken.

Some 46 million Americans lack health insurance coverage. The number is predicted to rise to 72 million over the next three decades. Meanwhile, health care costs are expected to rise from 18 percent of GDP today to a third by 2040.

There's a lot of arguing about how to fix it.

President Obama's plan "slows the growth rate of health care costs, preserves choice of doctors and plans, and assures quality, affordable health care for all Americans," says Christina Romer, chair of the President Council of Economic Advisers.
