It seems like anyone can get an ADHD diagnosis these days, but if you've ever been around a seriously hyperactive kid, the diagnosis starts to look less like a wastebasket.
Now, new research finds that European preschoolers with gas appliances (stoves and fireplaces) in their homes have higher odds of having ADHD (especially an inability to pay attention) and scored slightly lower on cognitive ability tests than peers.
ADHD is real. A major unknown has been how to diagnose and treat it. And now, apparently, another question is what causes it.
