Coolest June Since 1913 in Phoenix

Last month, Phoenix set a record for the most days in May over 100 degrees (15). If you love the heat, it was delightful, but for many it was a bit warm.

June on the other hand has been unusually cool. Last Thursday was the 14th straight day below 100 degrees, the longest such stretch in June since 1913, the Arizona Republic reports.

What's it all mean? Not much, except to verify that Phoenix is a city of extremes (in 2006, 143 days passed without rain). Oh, and this month's lack of triple digits has meant one can sleep with the windows open and curb monthly A/C bills that otherwise frequently soar into triple digits this time of year.
