Fewer Americans See Solid Evidence of Global Warming

Interesting Poll from Pew Research:

http://pewresearch.org/pubs/1386/cap-and-trade-global-warming-opinion

There has been a sharp decline over the past year in the percentage of Americans who say there is solid evidence that global temperatures are rising. And fewer also see global warming as a very serious problem -- 35% say that today, down from 44% in April 2008.

The latest national survey by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press, conducted Sept. 30-Oct. 4 among 1,500 adults reached on cell phones and landlines, finds that 57% think there is solid evidence that the average temperature on earth has been getting warmer over the past few decades. In April 2008, 71% said there was solid evidence of rising global temperatures.

Over the same period, there has been a comparable decline in the proportion of Americans who say global temperatures are rising as a result of human activity, such as burning fossil fuels. Just 36% say that currently, down from 47% last year.

The decline in the belief in solid evidence of global warming has come across the political spectrum, but has been particularly pronounced among independents. Just 53% of independents now see solid evidence of global warming, compared with 75% who did so in April 2008. Republicans, who already were highly skeptical of the evidence of global warming, have become even more so: just 35% of Republicans now see solid evidence of rising global temperatures, down from 49% in 2008 and 62% in 2007. Fewer Democrats also express this view -- 75% today compared with 83% last year.

Despite the growing public skepticism about global warming, the survey finds more support than opposition for a policy to set limits on carbon emissions. Half of Americans favor setting limits on carbon emissions and making companies pay for their emissions, even if this may lead to higher energy prices; 39% oppose imposing limits on carbon emissions under these circumstances.

I suppose most americans who live where it is summer most of the days of the year, will most likely think this way. If you live where there's snow, no matter what climate experts say, or the atmospheric experts say, carbon is not colorless ordourless gas, you can see it, especially when the engine is a diesel power generator. It also smells very bad, and gives you a sour eyes and sleepy.

NO. CO2 IS colorless. Odorless. You will not even notice its prescence until concentrations reach above 6000ppm according to studies done by the US Navy. At that concentration the only noticed symptom was a minor increase in respiration, most people do not even notice until concentrations reach more than 10000ppm. There are not noticeable affects until concentrations reach much higher levels. The same studies saw no long term consequences with concentrations of more than 20000ppm. Generally you do not need to be concerned with co2, except (yes there is always a condition!) if there is a corresponding decrease in atmospheric oxygen. As long as O2 retains the same concentration in the atmosphere we are quite capable of adapting to MUCH higher levels of CO2. OSHA limits CO2 to 5000ppm and it is not considered dangerous until concentrations reach 30000ppm, 50000ppm is considered a "lethal" level.

What you are noticing with the diesel engine are all of the OTHER byproducts of combustion, mainly the particulates (these are the ones that cause the smell and itchy eyes). The reason you are getting sleepy is most likely a large increase in carbon-MONoxide (CO). You need to better ventilate where your generator is kept as these things can kill you, especially carbon-monoxide. Too much CO in the air and you will simply fall to sleep AND DIE. OSHA limits CO exposure to 50ppm in the US, levels of 100ppm are considered dangerous, death will occur in about 20 minutes at a concentration of 6000ppm.

This is what I mean, CO, and CO2, we can see them up here, in the arctic, and they're smells bad. They're really black and visible to tell you the truth. But also, it's this link shows what is going on, invisibly. There are no diesel engines out in the middle of the land, but in the coastal community. But these black elements, not from the diesel engine, but from the sky. It's been a long time since we've told everyone, but people keep telling us, we're nuts. Maybe it's time to really open up your eyes, and see for yourselves.
