POLL - The Fourth Kind, Alien Encounters
So... The Fourth Kind is coming, opening soon. I'm still planning on seeing it.
We posted a poll last week, here. And here's another one for you!
I'm positive I have not had an alien encounter, though I did see a curious light the other night. Sometimes I wonder...
That being said, would you even remember if you had one?

Re: POLL - The Fourth Kind, Alien Encounters
I've certainly never been abducted by aliens (at least not that I'm aware of), but I did watch some lights in the sky moving around, blinking in sequence, changing colors, disapear and reappear for about 90 seconds late one evening out on an old dirt road. 2 other guys saw the same thing and none of use had ever seen anything like it before. There littereally is nothing I can think of to explain what it was. That doesn't mean I think it was aliens... but I suppose I can't say it certainly wasn't either. After that experience I got interested in UFOs for a while. I read about UFO sightings and alien abductions, most of what I read was SO kooky I lost interest pretty quick. What I saw that evening certainly remains one of the weirdest things I've ever seen, though. I still just have not idea what it could have been.

Re: POLL - The Fourth Kind, Alien Encounters
I had an almost identical experience as mentioned by KickingWeasel, however, the lights in question, which were on the horizon to the left of me, literally paced my truck as we drove down a country road and then slowed to a stop at what seemed the exact speed that I slowed to a stop. It then began to move towards us, and then as another car's headlights crested a hill along the adjoining road, it moved very fast back over the horizon. To this day, I have no idea what that could have been. It was totally silent and while we never saw a "craft," as the lights came closer to us, they were of a fairly decent size...
I know there must be an explanation in science, but it eludes me to this day.

Yes, in Vermont between Burlington and Rutland. A big ship with lights came over the hill, pulled over and got out of car and almost immediately ship was over my head. I already described in the other poll so won't get in too much detail. End result was I went aboard, Out of body. Could see my body below from window when first aboard. Time had stopped since neither my body nor anything else was moving below. I talked with aliens - it was a positive experience. Ship's appearance inside was very sterile and boring.

No. However, when returning from a Viet Nam sortie in 1965 we were passed by 5 UFO's in fomation going Mach 6+. They were all discs with a diameter larger than the wingspan of an F-4 and glowing a bright oangepinkage red. Ther was no sound and their formation did not fluctuate in the slightest. It was a clear moonless night.

Re: POLL - The Fourth Kind, Alien Encounters
I guess it depends on your interpretation of an "Encounter". Face to face, no. Physical contact, not that I am aware of.
Sightings, on the other hand, yes. Several times. The first that I vaguely remember was as a small child in Upstate New York. I just remember seeing a slow moving silent object in the sky at dusk in the Catskills. Then in Phoenix, years later, as a teen, my family witnessed another large, slow silent object in the sky above the VA Hospital.
And we have seen other things in the sky. We lived west of Luke AFB for a while, in the desert. Some could say they were AF Jets. I don't think so. Then we saw the "Phoenix Lights". They were not "flares". IT was something else. My parents had seen the same object over their land earlier that evening, in Northern Arizona.
So, as you can see, your interpretation of an "Encounter" might make a difference as to how you vote.

When I was about 13-14 years old I was laying in bed one night and saw a light a little bigger than a star outside my window. It was much brighter than anything else outside. It drew closer until it was about the size of a pea and then I was struck by a bolt of lightning. It felt and looked like a big static shock. I noticed no time passing but the alram clock in my room had advanced ~5-10 minutes.
