The burgeoning population is not the cause of food shortage. The selfishness of a country that would pay farmers NOT to harvest their crops is at fault. The selfishness of a country that exports food to other countries and raises prices at home is the problem. A country that will not help farmers in the U.S. but will buy outside the borders when they can get it cheaper. The U.S. at one time was totally self sufficient, but corporate greed and government mismanagement has ruined our independence. For me, I'm going back home and plant a garden.
