A filter in a deep-sea water-pipe system trapped a bizarre creature that looks to be part squid, part octopus and part spider.
Biologists expect it could be a new species of squid, but it’s been dubbed “octosquid.”
The pipes are part of the Natural Energy Laboratory in Hawaii. “We really enjoy these little mysteries that come up,” said Christopher Kelley, program biologist for the Hawaii Undersea Research Laboratory.�
