It’s odd to hear of a tornado ripping through a European city, or anywhere that is not Kansas. But they do.

One hit a residential area of London today (officials described it as a mini-tornado).

While the U.S.’s “Tornado Alley” is the world’s foremost breeding ground for twisters, and most of them occur in the spring, they can strike just about anywhere on Earth, including near Lake Michigan, in October, at night (really!).
