I’m no doctor, but even I know there’s something fishy about the latest medical ‘findings’ making their way ‘cross the news wires these days. First came reports that drinking just one cup of coffee could reduce the risk of developing cirrhosis of the liver, a common side effect of abusing alcohol, by up to 20%. Hot on its heels - a study claiming beer might prevent prostate cancer. The kicker? Up to 17 beers a day are required to see any benefit.

A little fun with medical math: if 17 beers prevent cancer but could give you cirrhosis of the liver, just how many cups of coffee do you have to drink to be 100% sure you don’t? My guess? Enough to give you a whole new whack of medical issues to worry about.
