The National Space Symposium being held this week in Colorado Springs drew a record crowd of military and civilian space officials and contractors, and also out-in-the-street protestors.
Attendees of the meeting were greeted with activists from the Citizens for Peace in Space.
“Don’t Swallow Space Symposium Baloney!” one hand-out flyer read as one person handed out free baloney sandwiches.
“Blow the Whistle on Crime and Corruption!” said another.
“There is much to celebrate in the scientific quest to explore outer space. The scientific method is founded on openness, peer review and has a high standard for stating truth. But this symposium is also involved with the sinister side of space,” explained a flyer.
