Save This Ugly Fish, not from a mirror, but from extinction, as environmentalists have come to realize that the well-being and presence of the Short-nose Sturgeon is essential to the health of the Suwannee River, located in the Gulf. Who would've thought a hero could bear such an ugly face? Sturgeon are primitive-looking fishes, with tube-like mouth located on the underside of the head. They have wider mouths (inside the lips; the width is greater than 60 percent of the distance between the eyes). Their bodies are covered with 5 rows of large bony plates. Growing up to 8 feet long, and weighing as much as 200 pounds, the Short-nose Sturgeon is a force to be reckoned with.
