An Urban Bird...
They're all ears... A trio of fennec fox kits born at the Bronx Zoo.
A full-grown fennec fox weighs a little more than three pounds, making them the smallest of all canids, whose family includes wolves, jackals and coyotes.
In the wild, fennec foxes live in North Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, where their light colored fur serves as perfect camouflage to its desert environment. Its oversized ears not only allow foxes to hear over long distances, but also help dissipate heat.
