A striking coua, photographed at the Central Park Zoo’s Tropic Zone exhibit.
Couas are members of the cuckoo family, but are found only on the island of Madagascar. They are known to mimic the calls of other birds.
The Wildlife Conservation Society will open a spectacular new Madagascar exhibit in Spring ’08, showcasing some of the amazing wildlife that call home to this unique island-nation.
