One Very Big Bird
"Moe," a Malayan tapir bobs for a pumpkin at the Bronx Zoo’s Jungleworld exhibit.
Pumpkins are one of many tools used for enrichment to keep the Zoo’s animals happy. In the wild, Malayan tapirs live in forested regions of tropical Asia, where they browse on plants.
A full-grown adult can weigh over half a ton. In recent years, habitat loss and hunting have reduced their numbers.
