White-cheeked gibbons are members of a large family of old world primates largely restricted to Asia’s tropical and sub-tropical regions.  Most species are threatened by over-hunting and habitat loss.

Adult male white white-checked gibbons are all black (except for the white cheeks); only females and young gibbons display the honey yellow-coloration.
