Zoos in Japan run safety drills to prepare themselves for animal escapes. The drills involve a staff member wearing an animal costume. This year, a staffer wore a zebra costume. In previous years, staffers have dressed as tigers and rhinos. The escaped animal is surrounded using temporary fences, nets and vehicles, and then shot with a tranquilizer gun.
