Tom Smulders and Kyriacos Kareklas from Newcastle University in England ran tests on people handling wet and dry marbles and found that people can move wet marbles faster when their fingers are wrinkled. If the nerves to your fingers are severed, then your fingers won't wrinkle properly because wrinkling in the skin on your fingers is controlled by your nervous system.
