A Japanese researcher has built a bipedal robot that can walk a tightrope. The robot was made using a modified $1,800 Kondo KHR-3HV hobby kit with a few modifications that give it the ability to inch its way along a steel wire just over an eighth of an inch (4 mm) thick. The robot uses its arms to balance along the tightrope.
