The U.S. Army sent its Long Endurance Multi-Intelligence Vehicle (LEMV) on its first flight on Friday. The unmanned airship is nearly as long as a football field and stands 80 feet tall, according to ABC News. The skin is made from Vectran, Kevlar and Mylar making it able to withstand a small about of firepower. The army states the ship could be used to provide surveillance on a battlefield from one day to several weeks.
