Schools are a focal point of a community, so they can be a hotbed of new ideas about sustainability. And if this school ere reducing its carbon emissions...or water consumption..or solid wastes, wouldn't it be great if there was a network so that it would share the info on how they did it with other schools...lots of other schools. Well, the Green School Alliance is not only linking three thousand schools in 18 countries and 2 million students, it runs a friendly competition called the Green Cup Challenge that challenges scholls to find ways to reduce the 3 billion US school energy dollars that are wasted every year...all while inspiring the environmental leaders of tomorrow!
